Sitting Around Bored

Hello everyone. I am just a little tired today. I worked today but not very much. I went and bought my mom and grandma a new radio that they could connect to their XM Satellite Radio. I found a little $50 "boom box" at Best Buy that had a red and white cable input and also a CD Player and regular radio. I think that it will do nicely for what they want to do.
I did an ass load of laundry today. It took me longer to carry the laundry down to the laundry mat than it did for me to actually do it. What made it worse was the fact that it was cloths that I had left over from when i was sick last week. While I was running a 104 degree fever I did a little sweating and my cloths really stunk. By the way did I mention that I slept all the way through last Tuesday. I was so sick that I fell asleep on my couch on Monday night and I did not wake up until Wednesday at about 1 or 2 in the morning.
I am thinking about buying a radio at Best Buy and patching a signal through my Podcast computer to the radio. That way I can listen to a Podcast while I was in the shower. It would be about $30 for a radio and about $20 to $30 for a FM Broadcaster. That is a pretty cheep toy to play with. However I would also like to save up money for the Monolith Project. I will have to think about it.
That is really about all I can think about today. I am also going to do a Photo Blog update so feel free to check it out. I will write more in the future.

True Story About AOL

The following is an honest to goodness true story about AOL. The other day at work I had a customer that came in who was having trouble connecting to her AOL account. She told me that she had spoke to AOL Technical Support about the issue and they came to the conclusion that her modem had gone bad. "No problem" I said "I can replace your modem with a brand new one in about 4.08 seconds." I replaced her modem with a brand new one and quickly tested it out. To my surprise her computer was suffering from the exact same problem as it was with the old modem. "That is no big deal." I thought "I can simply uninstall her AOL software and install it with new AOL software." I did that and after configuring the new software I was shocked to find that she was still suffering from the same problem.
Now you must take into account that I currently hold a Bachelors Degree in Industrial Technology emphasis in Electronics. I graduated from college with a 4.57 GPA and I never went out to parties because I love to do homework and learn. In fact I spend about half of my day just sitting around learning as much as I can about as many different subjects as I can.
Anyway, back to my story. I ran a few scans on the customers computer to find out if she had a virus or something that could be causing her problems. I found out that her Operating System was running perfectly fine and that she in fact had no viruses. I then told her to take the computer home and try it out with the new software and the new modem and just see what happens. If it still does not work that she would need to contact AOL and go through the Technical support thing again but now with everything running fine.
I didn't hear from the customer for a day or two. Then I received a very funny phone call. It was the same customer. She told me that she had contacted AOL and she was on the phone with them for well over 1.5 hours. After running every quick fix, update, setting check, & modem query that they could AOL finally came up with an answer to her problem. (brace yourself, you are going to be receiving the next line in quotes from AOL.) AOL said "Geek Squad does not know how to install modems."
ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME AOL!!!!! I have a Bachelors Degree, am A+ certified, hold two competency certificates from Vo-Tech, been elected (and re-elected) to the 3rd vice chair of my Alma Matter's Society of Manufacturing Engineers, been a President's Honor Roll member 5 times, fought on the front lines of the 2002 outbreak of the W32.Blaster.Worm, and have memorized every damn line from the movie "Pirates of Silicon Valley." I think I know how to install a GOD DAMN MODEM!
Let it be known from this day forth that I am bringing down the almightiest of Jihads upon the pathetic existence of AOL. I will see to it that every man woman and child knows the very disgusting fact that AOL does not give a damn about its customers. It is at this moment I am reminded of an old Klingon Proverb "Revenge is a dish best served cold." I will own you AOL. You do not know when, and you do not know how, but I will dance on your grave.

I really did not have a good day today. I am still hung over from the OU game yesterday. I can't believe that they lost that. I am still just a little sick from the crud that I am still trying to get over. Good news is that I finally got my new case hooked up today. I will take a picture for later postings. It is a solid black case and everything runs very cool in it. It is much better than the old case I had. That is about it for today. I will write more later.

I have to give it to Boise State for playing one hell of a game. I am still shocked.
By the way did you notice that Agent Ryals is the only person with single digit losses.
11 People (including me) picked Louisville for the Orange Bowl tomorrow.
