Garden Days

June 29, 2003 10:17 PM CST

Another long tuff day has come to an end for me. I helped my dad in the garden for most of the day. We had to till, plant, and water. I really am very tired right now. I did however get the chance to check out www.oldversion.com. They have updated it very much. I thought that it was very nice and easy to navigate through.

This morning before church I finally beat the game Half Life: Decay. I beat the original Half Life along time ago but I never got around to playing Decay. I pulled out the old disk and I started to play and I immediately fell back into the story line. I also just found out a couple of days ago that they are making a Half Life 2. I don’t know what it is going to be about or when it is going to released but I am interested.

After I beat Half Life: Decay I started to play Star Craft again. I picked up on a saved game that I started back while I was still at NEO. I am now almost through it now as well.

Today has been along day and tomorrow I will get paid. I am really excited about that. I have worked almost 80 hours this pay period so I think that I will be making quite a lot of money and that means that I will get the chance to upgrade my computer. I think that my next step is to get a USB 2.0 interface up and running on my computer. Then I don’t know which will be next, either wicked fast CDRW drive or the first external hard drive. I really need to pick one of them out and I need to pick one of them out fast.

I would really like a new CDRW drive but I would also like the external hard drive but before I can get either one of those I need a USB 2.0 interface. Decisions, decisions, what ever shall I do. Well I need to get some sleep. I have an early day tomorrow. This is Bryon Hammer signing off.

Day one out of two has come to an end. That’s one of two days off. Tomorrow I have another day off and then I work a morning shift and then another two days off. After that I will get paid and I plan to buy an external hard drive for this computer.

I will get a Maxtor 100 GB hard drive with 7200 RPM that will cost about $100.00 bucks. After that I am going to buy and external hard drive kit that I am guessing will cost about $25 to $50 bucks. Then I want to get another hard drive so that I can ghost my internal hard drive and also another one after that to ghost my first external one. This way I wont have to use all of those damn CD-R’s. I have been thinking about this for quite along time and I think that it will be worth it in the long run. What I will do with my first External hard drive is I am going to take my entire My Documents folder and dump it onto it. That way I will have more room to store things on my computer.

I haven’t done much today. I helped my day mow the yard and then I helped him pick some vegetables from the garden. It is getting to the time of year that the garden is really putting out a lot of food and it always tastes good because it is really fresh.

Another thing that I want to buy is the new Dell Axim E5. I don’t know if I spelled Axim right and I can’t remember if it is an E5 or an X5, but oh well. I have always been interested in pocket PC’s and this one sounds like a good way to get started on one of them. I want to know more about the software and what the functionality is but I really think that it is the way to go.

In order to speed up my purchases while I am at college I am going to open a checking account and get one of those debit cards. I am going to have the number be 555686(ha ha just kidding). You don’t think that I would be that dumb do you. If anyone out there has any cool ideas for a good update then please feel free to email them to me at bryonhammerslinks@lycos.com. I think that that is all that I have really accomplished today so here’s Bryon Hammer signing off.

The Star Crafts Are Landing

June 27, 2003 11:39 PM CST

I have been playing "Star Craft" for over one and a half hours. I have had a busy day today. I had to wake up at 5:00 AM and go to work and I had to work until 2:00 PM, then I went in to work again at 8:00 PM and stayed until 10:00 PM. I am really tired right now. I have not been on the Internet once today and that is why I don’t have any big things to write about. I have the next two days off and I am going to use them to my fullest advantage.

I have a couple of things planned for my web page and I don’t really know if they are going to work or not. They are not really big things but I am going to work on them any way. I think that I am going to try to watch “The Screen Savers” tomorrow. I haven’t watched them in quite along time.

Just a few days ago I got baptized. I have never been baptized before and I thought that I was ready to get it done. I have always believed in god but I have just never been baptized.

I am going to go to bed I will write more later

Once again I have stayed up late playing video games. I am very tired and I will probably be falling asleep soon. I have been playing "Half Life" on the Playstation 2. I really like that game but I would probably like it more if it were on a computer instead of the Playstation. I had to work yesterday from 6:00 AM until 2:00 PM and today I will have to work from 11:00 AM until 7:00 PM. I am not very fond of the 11 – 7 shift but I have to do it. I have to get my checkbook back to positive numbers. Don’t get me wrong I do have money in my checkbook but I spent some money that I probably shouldn’t have. I really need to save some money for college.

I have thought about a new upgrade for my computer. I want to put an external hard drive and put my entire my documents folder onto it and that way I will never have to worry about someone using my personal data again. However, in order to connect my external hard drive I will need USB 2.0 on my computer and I will have to go to "Comp USA" in Tulsa to get that. As soon as I get some money I will go. I am pretty sleepy; I will have more blog some time in the future.

Westerns

June 19, 2003 10:38 PM CST

Tonight I’m just sitting here watching the movie "Wyatt Earp" with my dad. Yesterday I got enrolled for my last semester at NEO. On Monday, Wednesday, & Friday I have "General Physical Science" at 9:00AM, "American History Since 1865" at 10:00AM, "American Government" at 11:00AM, & "General Physical Science Laboratory" from 2:00PM until 4:00PM. Then on Tuesday and Thursday I have "Freshman Composition II" at 11:00AM. You can view my updated fall of 2003 schedule Here. All three of my updated schedules are available Here.

The trip to NEO campus was a long drive. I took the highway 10 rout so it only took 2.5 hours. The first thing that I did when I got there was finding my advisor, Jeb. The first thing that I wanted to do was drop my college algebra class and my functions of math classes. Since I passed my college algebra summer class there is no reason to take the same class again. I am really looking forward to my next semester of NEO. It is hard to believe that my next semester will also be my last. That is another thing that I am looking forward to is the end of NEO and the start of my next school. My top four college picks for colleges after NEO are located Here.

I have spent a lot of time keeping my web page updated and keeping it running. If anyone out there in Internet land enjoys what I am doing here then please send me some feed back. My Email address is located at the bottom of the page.

After I visited with Jeb I went to the business office and got some of my fees paid for. I was going to pay my tuition also but they said that since the tuition was going up and that some of my scholarships were not turned in to them yet that it would be easier for me to pay the tuition later. I also tried to buy my books but they said that the bookstore was closed for remodeling so I will have to do that later also. I also had to go and visit with a Ms. Blair. She was in charge of who graduated and who didn’t. Her and Jeb looked over my graduation check sheet for quite awhile before saying that as long as I pass all of my classes this semester that I will be graduating from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology. Like I said before I am really excited about this next semester.

Right now SWOSU (Southwestern Oklahoma State University) is at the top of my list of possible schools for after NEO. I really liked the Electronics Department there. I do however have some very strange classes that I have to take. One of the classes is a woodworking class. I don’t understand how woodworking and electronics are connected but oh well. I also have to take Physical Education, Welding, and a music class. I have no idea what the heck these classes have to do with electronics but in order to get my Bachelor of Science Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology I will have to take them. I have a good feeling that the higher and higher that I go in my education that I will find that I will need stranger and stranger classes.

After I do get my Bachelor degree and I get my dream job I am still going to be going to school to pursue my next step in education. I have been rambling on and on for over an hour now and I am getting pretty tired.

Comments Cometh

June 17, 2003 10:50 PM CST

I am just sitting here waiting for a couple of Martina McBride songs to download. I have to wake up early tomorrow but I really want to have these songs.

I had an interesting comment come up today. A friend of mine and I were talking about this Blog and I was saying how I didn’t think that it was going to be that good and that I was probably going to stop doing it after a few weeks when nobody read it. Well she told me that it would probably get interesting after I start my fall of 2003 college semester because I would be telling everything that happens during my college life. I started to think about this and I agreed with her. This Blog could get very very interesting after school starts back up for me in just a few months. Now I am really excited about this Blog. I am going to try my hardest to keep it running and up to date.

Angelfire, the web page provider that hosts my page, is offering all of its customers a free blog that anyone can update for their page. The only draw back is that it costs 5 bucks a month and I really don’t want to spend money on this web page. Don’t get me wrong I really love this web page, but I have built it from the ground up using no money what so ever, and I would like to keep it that way.

I did learn about two very interesting pieces of software that I really want to have in the next few months. One is called Webstripper and it is discussed at Http://www.webstripper.net. I am really interested in it to keep a backup copy of this web page. The other piece of software that I am interested in is called Norton Ghost. Norton Ghost is a very interesting way to back up your hard drive with out having to use millions of disks and a ton of time. I will have to save my money up for quite a long time to get enough money to buy these things. Webstripper is 30 bucks and Ghost is around 70.

Well that is about it for me right now. I am going to check on my download and go to bed.

My First Blog

June 17, 2003 07:49 PM CST

This is my first Blog ever. I am actually quite excited about this. I have been thinking about starting a Blog for quite a long time but I was always nervous as to weather or not anyone would be interested in what I had to say or not.

Today me and my grandpa went out and set some perch (spelling?) traps. I am getting interested in doing some Trot Lining this summer. Trot Lining is when you set up and underwater fishing line and you leave it there over night and the fisherman comes back the next bay and checks on the hooks to see if anything was caught. It is a really relaxing hobby and I love to do it during the summer.

Just a few days ago I finished my College Algebra summer class at Northern Oklahoma College. I finished the class with a 95% and I am really happy about that. Just as soon as I get my grade finalized I will post it on my About Me Page. That is about all I have for now but I will probably have more later.
